Welcome back Solver users. We hope that you are ready for some big updates to the Solver product this month. We recently announced that Solver Cloud will include all features for all of our users. This means you and your fellow users will have new experiences to explore in the application! A more extensive explanation of these updates can be found in this article. We also will be updating our extension for Acumatica which is available now. See the note below for more information about this update.

New Features and Enhancements

Reporting

  • Fix issues where Merge and Center did not work across nested expansion groups in the web interface
  • Add the ability for Sheet per Value reports to display consistent data when using Period aggregation and Entity Tree Parameters.
  • Add support for Excel’s data validation feature with in the web interface.

Publisher

  • Performance improvements loading the Publisher application within the web.
  • Add support in Publisher for hidden parameters in drilldown and Drill to.
  • Add support for PeriodCalcs syntax for Date Parameter types. Using this requires that the parameter being used is Parameter type Lookup.
  • Add the ability for users to choose whether or not to include the parameters in the file name. Parameters will still remain in the email body.

Data Warehouse

  • Update Danish translations in the Data Warehouse.
  • Add the ability for QuickStart for Acumatica to use the latest version of Generic Inquiries. The GL Detail integration now maps StartDate to the Period dimension.
    • A new version of Acumatica Generic Inquiries is available. Version 1.2.1.0 can be found by going to the Data Warehouse > Integrations > add new > select the Acumatica connector and then click on the download link
  • Add several tooltips around the Data Warehouse to give users more context when abbreviated titles have been shown.

Administration

  • Add the ability for Customer admins to export their user information. This information includes
    • Users assigned to the tenant(s).
    • Roles
    • Permissions
    • Feature Access
    • License
    • Data Access
  • Removed the ability for users to remove their customer administrator if there is only one remaining.
  • Various security fixes.

Bug Fixes

Planning

  • Fix an issue where the Save Data button was not active in some cases when it should be.
  • Fix an issue where the change of ownership for assignments was not working correctly.
  • Fix an issue in Assignments where the dimension description was being shown instead of the dimension code when configured to ‘let the user decide’.

Reporting

  • Fix an issue in Sheet per Value reports where the comparative grid was appearing when it should not.
  • Fix an issue where the Publish Draft button would not appear on the Input Templates menu.
  • Fix an issue where PeriodCalc was failing with packages in Publisher.
  • Fix an issue with Validation error messages when saving a Publisher subscription.
  • Remove all references to Custom when using a date selector in Publisher for clarity purposes.
  • Fix an issue where Ad Hoc files were missing the file extension type (.xlsx) when the file name had a period (.).
  • Fix an issue with protecting non-input cells in the application as well as adding the ability for users to stop protecting a report after it has been run.
  • Fix an issue where in some cases Excel cell protection was not working in the application.
  • Fix an issue where in some cases copying from Excel would change the formatting automatically.

Data Warehouse

  • Fix an issue where sometimes the confirmation notification would not appear when importing a business rule.
  • Fix an issue where some users were unable to access the Event Log.
  • Fix an issue where the Trees menu was displaying the system name instead of the proper label.
  • Fix an issue in Expression Builder where the expression: Right () was not working in certain cases.
  • Fix an issue where the user’s screen would stutter when changing the browser size while running QuickStart.
  • Fix an issue where filtering by Dimension members was not correctly filtering the results when returning to the Dimension Members page.
  • Fix an issue where some attributes were missing after creating a new dimension.

Administration

  • Fix an issue where notification banners were unable to be closed.
  • Fix an issue where administrators were able to add the same email multiple times to a tenant.
  • Fix an issue where the main menus in the application were not getting translated while using the Danish language option.
