Welcome to 2025 Solver family. This year is going to be a great year with all sorts of improvements to Solver that will get you even more bang for your buck. We have many exciting features planned for you so remember to keep coming back to our product help site to look at all of the enhancements we are introducing over the weeks and months.

Attention Administrators: This month will include a big change to licensing. We have added the new Contributor license type. We feel that this will address a highly requested permission profile and allow our admins to make changes using a simpler process. See our article about these changes for more information.

Licensing Changes

As stated above, this month’s release will include a new type of license called a contributor license as well as a new way to manage licenses and permissions for our administrators. Read more about these changes here.

QuickStart for Personnel Official Release

Recently we launched Solver’s new QuickStart for Personnel. The goal of QuickStart for Personnel is to standardize and simplify the creation of the Personnel module including payroll and benefits data for employees to improve the planning process.

An Excel file import will be used for the data, and QuickStart will build the module, create the initial structure, add needed dimensions, and import raw data. Users can find instructions on how to properly utilize this connector here or on the documentation attached to the Personnel template in the Marketplace.

QuickStart for Business Central Fixed Assets Module Now Available

We have also recently released a new QuickStart feature called Fixed Assets. Right now QuickStart for Fixed Assets will only work with D365 Business Central QuickStart integrations and requires the use of the updated Business Central extension (v3.3) which is coming soon. We have now completed an update that allows for an even better experience with our Business Central extension. Previously, this was uploaded to the BC extension marketplace as the Solver CPM extension. Now, we have developed a new version called the Solver xFP&A For Dynamics 365 Business Central extension that best suits our customers’ needs for their BC data. Solver Copilot

In October, we released our newest enhancement to the Solver experience in our Solver Copilot Help Chatbot. This is a revolutionary change in our support/product help process that allows users to get the answers to their process and product questions quickly. Please take some time to explore this new feature and leave us some feedback on the responses you receive within the Copilot interface. Read our Copilot article for more information.

New Mid-Month Releases

Recently, we have begun putting out irregular weekly releases that address bugs that we feel to be important to fix at a quicker cadence than our regular monthly release of fixes and enhancements. This month may have more of these releases so come back and check this page periodically throughout the next month to see what has been addressed between this release and the next release.

New Features and Enhancements

Data Warehouse

  • Enhanced user experience when using filters in Data Explorer.
  • Added a standardized error message for users to experience when having issues manually authenticating their Business Central account.

Administration

  • Improved Portuguese translations across the application.
  • Added the contributor license type.
  • Changed the license distribution process for Administrators.

Bug Fixes

Reporting

  • Enhanced the performance of thumbnail generation for reports and templates in the application.
  • Fixes an issue with the user interface when filtering Ad Hoc reports.
  • Fixes an issue where Report Archive was not allowing Excel filters to be used in reports.
  • Fixes an issue where the hide empty columns feature was not working when drilling down in the portal.

Data Warehouse

  • Fixes an issue where integration steps were automatically reordered when editing the configuration of a manual integration.
  • Fixes an issue where the new Fixed Asset module was not accessible in QuickStart for Business Central.
  • Fixes an issue where some users were receiving duplicate DisplayOrders modules from QuickStarts when working with the Stargate dimension.
  • Fixes an issue where some users were unable to reorder tasks in integrations created with QuickStart.

Administration

Fixes several issues that were causing some users to experience crashes and inapplicable error messages while navigating the administrative menus.
