Starting January 2025, Solver adds an additional license type, a “contributor” license, to the product and an updated experience when assigning licenses and feature access. The Contributor license is budget focused license type with access to:
- Home menu
- Process Manager
- Publisher Recipient
- Assignments (both direct assignments and assignments created through a workflow)
- Drilldown capabilities are available if assigned.
Users will notice the following changes
- License summary information has been moved to the Customer level and removed from each tenant. This will improve the licensing experience as a users license applies across all tenants.
The license summary tab will include:- The total count of in use and available licenses per type along with the
- A Listing of all users of a tenant and their assigned license.
- Licenses are assigned on the users menu. The dropdown displays the 3 license types available in Solver and an additional “unlicensed” option:
- Viewer
- Users assigned to this license type will have access to
- Home
- Process Manager
- Report Archive
- Publisher Distribution Recipient
- Ad Hoc
- Users assigned to this license type will have access to
- Contributor
- Users assigned to this license type will have access to:
- Home
- Process Manager
- Report Archive
- Publisher Distribution Recipient
- Assignments & Assignments
- Users assigned to this license type will have access to:
- Standard
- Users assigned to this license type will have access to any feature in Solver that is assigned to them.
- Unlicensed
- Use this if you need to temporarily remove access for a user to give someone else permissions to Solver.
- Viewer
- The features that you assign to a user to, such as Reporting, Report Designer, Data Warehouse access have been moved to the Permissions tab and can be assigned at the User or the Role level.
New Permissions
As mentioned above, access to the features of Solver has been moved to Permissions. The Permissions menu lists all features that you can grant a user to. With this month’s update, updates the Permissions menu, grouping permissions by feature for better clarity and has the following for actions previously done on the Licenses tab.
