This is March Solver users! We have prepared another joy-inducing update for you this month that will improve your Solver experience all around the application. This update has big improvements and fixes to Process Manager, Ad Hoc Reporting, and Input Templates. Additionally, there is an optional, but recommended Report Designer upgrade.

As many of you may know, we will be holding our annual user conference in August of this year and would love for you to join us and learn more about Solver. New Features

Process Manager

  • Added the ability for users to advance the due dates for a duplicated process by one week, one month, or one year.

Reporting

Ad Hoc Reporting

  • Added the ability for users to filter in Ad Hoc on attributes including measures (Value1, Value2, Value3) by equals, not equal, greater than, greater than or equals, less than, less than or equals, and between.
In order to use these filters, select the filter icon next to the Value option.
  • Added support for users to change the owner of an Ad Hoc report within the administration page. This feature does not affect the sharing status or the favorite marking on reports in that user’s Ad Hoc.

Report Designer

  • A new version of Report Designer is being released and will be available for download.
  • Added improved and more detailed error messages.

Data Warehouse

  • Added object support for the Sales and Service connector.

Portal

  • Added improvements to the translation of multiple languages across the application including:
    • French
    • German
    • Danish
  • Added design improvements to buttons to improve clarity.

Bug Fixes

Planning

  • Several issues have been fixed and upgrades have been made to Line Item Details including:
    • Fixes an issue with cutting and pasting for Line Item Details.
    • Added improved responsiveness for Line Item Details.
    • Fixes an issue that prevented users from including more detailed comments in Line Item Details fields than the visual area allowed.
    • Fixes an issue where users were unable to use special characters in Line Item Details descriptions.
    • Added improvements to performance when editing Line Item Details.
    • Added improvements to the user experience of modifying Line Item Details.
  • Fixes an issue with the order of parameters being incorrectly sorted in Assignments.
  • Fixes an issue with the “Delete transactions if cell value is 0” and the “Delete transactions for empty cells in the storage cell” settings not working properly when used with a formula.
  • Fixes an issue with errors occurring with Budget Templates for some customers.

Reporting

Report Designer

  • Fixes an issue where filters were not resetting when users would select the reset all button in Report Archive.
  • Removes the ability to run in report designer from Report Packages
  • Fixes an issue where thumbnails were not being generated.
  • Fixes issues where users are unable to store data if a tab’s name is longer than 31 characters. Now up to 50 characters is supported. (Report Designer update required)
  • Fixes an issue where the application would crash if the Sheet Per Value tab name is empty. (Report Designer update required)
  • Fixes an issue that caused reports to error out if users had utilized merge and center when designing a report.

Ad Hoc Reporting

  • Fixes an issue where new Ad Hoc reports were being created without a specified company.
  • Fixes an issue where values that had been copied did not retain their formatting after being pasted.
  • Fixes an issue where using the unselect all option for custom filters would switch the menu to the pre-defined filters tab.
  • Fixes an issue where users were seeing a warning about leaving a page with unsaved data after already saving the most recent version.
  • Fixes an issue that users were seeing when using blank fields for advanced filters.
  • Fixes an issue where the total and line items on an Ad Hoc report were formatted differently and not following proper culture formatting.

Data Warehouse

  • Fixes an issue where users were receiving an error message when attempting to import an uploaded currency table to the Monthly Rates menu.

Portal

  • Various security fixes.
  • Various infrastructure enhancements.
  • Job stability improvements.
  • Fixes an issue where some Azure Active Directory users were receiving an unknown user error message when trying to login to Solver.
