February 2023

Welcome back Solver users. We have developed a great release for you this month including some highly requested features such as PDF exporting in Publisher and the ability to cancel a request to open a report in Assignments and Input Templates. Enjoy!

Please contact Solver regarding any issues you may encounter or to let us know how we are doing! You can reach us at support.solverglobal.com for all questions, comments, or concerns.

New Features

Planning

  • Added an option to cancel the loading process of opening the prior execution of a budget template in Assignments and Input Templates. This can be very useful in cases where your prior execution takes time to open.

Report and Input Templates

  • Added an option to cancel a drill-down or drill-to request in the event that loading has stalled or is taking too long.

Ad Hoc Reporting

  • Added the ability for advanced filtering within Ad Hoc Reporting.
  • Support was also added for expressions when using the advanced filter. This includes support for colon syntax for use with defining ranges (EX: 40010:40040).

At this time filtering on numeric attributes is not supported within these filtering upgrades.

Publisher

  • Added the ability for Publisher recipients to receive a PDF file instead of an Excel file.
    • Users may only choose one option (excel or PDF) per Publisher subscription.
    • Users cannot configure their Publisher subscription to export to one filter type for one recipient and another file type to another recipient of a same Publisher subscription.

Data Warehouse

  • Increased the number support for amount attributes, the new format is 29 digits with 12 to the right of the decimal and 17 to the left of the decimal. We have seen a large number of customers bringing in large transaction amounts and this change will allow the Solver application to support these numbers natively, whether coming from your ERP or maybe during a currency conversion process. . Existing amount attributes using the format 28 digits with 16 to the right of the decimal have not been changed. New amount attributes created going forward will use the new format exclusively.
  • Added fields to the Intacct Quickstart GL detail integration including Statistical and Cleared.
  • Added functionality to the Acumatica Quick Start wizard to allow users to import their budget data when importing GL data during the QuickStart process.
  • Added functionality to the Sage Intacct Quick Start wizard to allow users to import their budget data when importing GL data during the QuickStart process.
  • Added a tooltip to the data warehouse Stargate page that explains why Stargate custom fields are not customizable.
  • Added user experience and design improvements to the Currency page.

Bug Fixes

Administration

  • Users are unable to define security using the contains operator because the text box is missing.

Input Templates

  • When users copied percentages from an external file and pasted these values into an input template, storage would result in error. This has now been corrected so that storage successfully saves back percentages from external files

Report Templates

  • Support center across selection in the web interface
  • Support Excel column filters in the web interface
  • Support Excel’s row(offset) formula

Ad Hoc Reporting

  • Fixes an issue that caused Ad Hoc reporting to freeze when attempting to search after applying filters. This prevents freezing of the application when working with large data sets.
  • Fixes an issue where users were unable to export data from Ad Hoc due to a blank date column.
  • Fixed an issue where the last modified date displayed on the Ad Hoc list view items was not being displayed in the user’s local time zone.

Data Warehouse

  • Fixes an issue where attempting to rename a tenant would produce a long URL that would lead to an error message.  Reminder: In order to make customer name changes, please contact sales.
  • Fixes an issue with QuickStart mapping where a job would fail due to case sensitivity causing duplicate labels.
  • Fixes an issue with D365 Business Central Quick Start where users were receiving an error message when attempting a large integration due to the job timing out.
  • Fixes an issue with D365 Business Central Quick Start where Entity information was not being automatically mapped in the Sales Module.
  • Fixes an issue that allowed users to paste text and overwrite the Code field on the Dimension Members page.
  • Fixes a performance issue when users scrolled horizontally on the Dimension Members page when working with large data sets.
  • Fixes an issue where users were unable to delete multiple values at the same time even when selecting multiple fields on the Dimension Members page.

Note: There is a new D365 BC extension coming in near future to support beginning balances with dimension details.
