Over the past year, we have been modernizing the Solver platform to leverage emerging technologies. These updates will significantly enhance the performance, security, resilience, and scalability of Solver. While the look and feel of the platform will remain unchanged, users will enjoy a greatly improved experience.
Following these changes and the previously announced end of support for Solver’s Private Host offering, our development team can now fully focus on leveraging cloud technologies. This shift allows us to deliver new and enhanced features, as well as timely bug fixes, with the high quality you expect from our solutions.
New Features and Enhancements
- Improved Site Responsiveness and Resiliency
- Solver’s portal will now utilize cloud computing resources more efficiently to provide a more responsive feel to the user and allow their devices to keep up with heavier usage.
- Permissions and Licensing
- Changes to permissions and licensing will now require the user to log out and back in to see the changes take effect.
- Updated Loading Icon
- Users will notice a more defined loading icon while navigating through and performing tasks in the Solver application.

- Multiple Security Enhancements
- Email validation
- Users will notice that now any email can be provided during login to proceed to the password prompt regardless if they belong to an active user or not. This prevents attempts to identify valid users and emails.
- Login session per browser
- While you were also previously able to use different browsers to access multiple tenants at once, this will no longer be supported. If you are logged into one tenant on a browser and attempt to switch tenants while on the same account in another browser, both sessions will switch to the new tenant. Users can no longer share login sessions across browsers.
- Updated Auto-Logout Experience
- This update includes a new pop-up notification to alert users to the auto-logout process and also displays a warning message with 2 minutes of idle time remaining. You will be automatically logged out if you do not confirm that you are still actively using the application.

Resolved Bugs and Fixes
- Certain security configurations may have been causing users to be unable to log in post-update.
- Previously date formats were always MM/DD/YYYY. Now, date formats may be different depending on the language selected.
- Larger input templates with large amounts of data being stored back may have resulted in storage errors.
- Reports with large parameter selection (1000+ values) may not run.
- Fixed an issue where comparative data would not appear when users were working in the Line Item Details window.
Known Issues
We are aware of an issue that occurs when users are logged out due to exceeding the amount of idle time when logged into Solver, their session is not resumed when logging back in. The previous version of Solver would direct users to sign back in and return them to the screen they were on before the time out.
