All-Inclusive Licensing Subscription

With the August 2023 Cloud update, Solver is excited to provide users with an all-inclusive product experience, the Solver Suite, as first announced at Ascend 2023. Users will see several changes around the application that include,

  • Access to all available features within Solver.
  • Updated administrative screens to help users see details about their Solver subscription.

However, the way that you use the application will not change besides the addition of some new features and small changes.

Customer Experience Level Changes

Under the Administrative menu, users will see that the “Licensing” menu has been changed to the “Subscription” menu.

  • Users
    • This was previously shown as Power and Live Reporting Users
  • Viewers
    • This was previously shown as Report Archive Users
  • Tenants
    • Number of tenants your organization has purchased (the default is 1 tenant)
  • Storage
    • Amount of data that can be stored across your tenants (the default is 30GB)

Feature Access Changes

All-inclusive licensing gives customers access to all products when assigned by your administrator. However, with this month’s update. Report Designers will have access to all features in the Solver Suite, which include the following previously purchased features.

  • Publisher
  • Input Templates
    • Assignments
  • Workflow

On the licensing side, there are two changes to be aware of:

  1. A Reporting license is now required in order to assign a Report Designer license whereas previously, a Report Designer license gave access to a Reporting license.
  2. Publisher will now require a license for all recipients. Existing subscriptions created before the August Cloud update will continue to work regardless of the recipient’s licensing, however, following the August Cloud update all new Subscriptions and edits to existing integrations require that the added recipient has been assigned at least an Archive license.

Solver does plan to turn off distribution to unlicensed recipients at the start of 2024, please work with your Salesperson to get licensing for these recipients. You can view unlicensed recipients of a Publisher subscription by clicking the subscription details and looking for the notification icon (shown above).

Data Warehouse Changes

In the Data Warehouse, there are two changes to be aware of:

  1. Access to all connectors: Customers now have access to all connectors within the Solver Marketplace. With access to all connectors, expand your use of Solver by integrating more of your organization’s data sources.
  2. Module and Dimension limits have been lifted. Users will see the count of their Modules and Dimensions that have been created instead of the count of the amount available. This allows for more Modules and Dimensions to be created than before allowing you to bring more data into Solver. The modified version of this can be seen below.
