Implementer License Key

This article covers the terms, best practices, and installation information for implementer license keys. As an implementing partner, you have the ability to request implementer license keys. These keys give you full access to a customer’s tenant without taking away a license from the customer’s purchased licenses. This can be useful for:

  • Trainings where you need a license to guide users thru the Solver application.
  • Implementations where you are creating reports and handing them off to the customer for validation.

Terms and Best Practices

The implementer license is a handy license key but should only be used in select situations. These situations are:

  • Implementer keys must be requested separately for each customer. The implementer’s license applies to all tenants associated with a customer.
  • The user must be added to the tenant prior to applying/installing the implementer license key.
  • The implementer license is associated with an email and must match.
  • The implementer key will give you full data access and access to all purchased features.
  • Implementer license keys are for 30, 60, or 90 consecutive days.
It is best to request the minimum number of days and ask for extensions.
Because the implementers license if offered for a set number of days, some things to take into consideration are:
    • Short engagements with customers are best for requesting this license key. Trainings and defined implementation periods are best so you can use the key to its fullest.
    • Extensions after 90 days are not available. It is recommended that if engagements take longer than 90 days, another license should be purchased.
    • Implementer license keys cannot be “turned off”. If you request a 30 day implementer’s key but are done after 15 days, Solver cannot turn off the key and save the other 15 days for later.

Installing the Implementer Key

The following can only be performed by users with administrative permissions (can manager users, licensing and data access). After you have received the email with your implementer license key, follow these steps to apply it:

  1. Navigate to the Solver Cloud site and log in (must be an admin account).
  2. As an implementation partner, you may have access to multiple customers. Check to make sure you are logged into the right customer by looking at the selected customer found under the user dropdown menu.
  3. Once on the correct customer, click Settings > Administration in the lower left-hand corner.
  4. Click Users and make sure that the user to whom the implementers license will be assigned has been added to the tenant(s).
  5. The Administration page will appear. In the upper left-hand corner, click Apply Implementer’s license.
  6. In the popup that appears, type in the email associated with the implementer’s license key and paste in the key that has been provided.
    • The key that has been provided is specific to an email and must match the information provided to Solver.
  7. Once applied, there are a couple of ways to verify the implementers license:
    • On the User’s menu, you can select the user to view the Implementer license. Take note of the full data and feature access.
    • On the licensing page, you can see an icon indicating that the user is using the implementer license.

You have now successfully applied the implementer license.
