Getting started with connectors
Solver connectors offer an easy way to import data. There are options to connect to cloud based SaaS systems, on-premises systems, and file based data such as Excel or CSV files. To get started with importing data do the following:
- First ensure the period dimension has been configured. The period dimension will be referenced in the data, so this dimension should be configured first.
- Navigate to the Data Warehouse menu and then integrations. Note that if the Data Warehouse menu is not visible, permissions to access the menu will need to be granted by an administrator.
- Click the connector of interest to learn more about it. If it is a QuickStart connector, there will be an additional button to “Create QuickStart.” This will start the QuickStart wizard. The wizard will ask questions to help configure the connection and prepare the data for import. These settings can be changed at any time after the wizard is finished. The wizard will even set up a recurring import schedule. Once the QuickStart wizard is finished, the template marketplace will be available to download pre-created report and input templates.
- Once the integration completes and templates have been downloaded from the marketplace, all that is left is to start running templates and exploring the data.
